Job Summary
Coordinator, Belonging and Well-Being supports membership growth, engagement, and retention at the LA Y center by engaging with prospective members, assisting with tours and enrollment, following up with leads to support onboarding, and promoting programs and services. The role maintains a welcoming front-line presence at the Welcome Center, drives participation in YMCA programs, assists with sales and enrollment processes, and collaborates with leadership to execute daily priorities focused on member experience, retention, and community engagement. Responsibilities include sales support, enrollment facilitation, proactive outreach to prospective and inactive members, coordination of programs, and adherence to YMCA policies and confidentiality. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years in customer service or member-facing roles; specialized skills emphasize effective communication, relationship-building, organizational ability, reliability, flexibility (including evenings/weekends), and basic computer/membership-management skills. Certifications in First Aid/CPR/AED or willingness to obtain within 60 days are required; YMCA Team Leader Certification is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in customer service, sales, or member-facing roles preferred
- Experience in fitness, nonprofit, hospitality, or community-based environments preferred
- Prior experience supporting membership sales, front desk operations, or program engagement is a plus
- Certifications: Current YMCA-Approved Adult & Pediatric First Aid, AED, CPR Certifications or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire, required
- Y-USA Team Leader Certification, preferred
