Job Summary
Oversee and follow up with internal and external signing authorities regarding infractions and subsequent suspensions, while reviewing AVOP correspondences within RAPs 2.0 to verify responses and ensure communication is sent to signing authorities. Coordinate with Airside Safety Officers on incident reports, clarifications for appeals, and questions related to airside safety, and maintain documentation on individual infraction histories. Develop AVOP-related processes and procedures, administer written examinations, and draft routine correspondence such as memos, directives, and advisories. Analyze infraction and program oversight data to identify trends and areas of concern, and maintain and issue call signs for all vehicles operating on the maneuvering area. Establish a Bring Forward System to track correspondence completion and deliver training for AVOP presentations to airport tenants.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience working with regulations in a regulated aviation operation environment
- 5 years of experience in airport operations or airline operations
- Understanding of TP312, CARs and Airport Traffic Regulations
- AVOP permit, with a clean AVOP history
- Valid Provincial Driver's License (class G)
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
- Knowledge of Pearson International Airport layout of the aprons, taxiways and runways; runway combinations used by Air Traffic Control and airside activities
- Knowledge of aircraft, airline, and airport operating procedures
- Ability to collaborate closely, both verbally and in writing, with all agencies as well as senior GTAA management
- Ability to use Microsoft Word to compile written documents and reports, Microsoft Excel to build and generate reports as required and Microsoft Power Point to develop presentation material
- Maintaining knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, Standards, Recommended Practices and Procedures related to airports, aircraft and aircraft ground handling equipment (TP312)
- Ability to represent the GTAA in a professional manner at external forums including the ability to answer questions and act as a Subject Matter Expert as it relates to the Airport Traffic Directives
- Maintain a current knowledge of the Airport Traffic Directives and Airside Safety Officer programs, issues and priorities, and how each relates to the other Departments within the GTAA organization and to the Airport Community
- Ability to analyze operational situations and make decisions in regard to appeals
