Job Summary
Align the mission and resources of instructional technology programs in selected magnet schools with state standards and district priorities. Communicate vision and requirements for technology-enabled learning to stakeholders while demonstrating fluency with digital resources that support inquiry and 21st-century skills. Ensure tools address diverse student needs and provide professional development on instructional theory and practice. Foster collaboration to design, deliver, and assess activities promoting learner competence, while modeling ethical use of digital tools and upholding educator codes of conduct. Requires a North Carolina Instructional Technology Specialist license, three years of K-12 teaching experience, and a Bachelor's degree. Schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends; grant funding is subject to annual renewal.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of state and national standards for curriculum, including instructional technology
- Extensive knowledge of curriculum, instructional process and assessment
- Considerable knowledge of the implementation of technology projects and plans
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps
- Critical thinking and problem–solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback
- Ability to set goals and develop long-range and short-range plans to achieve excellence in selected magnet school instructional technology programs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Three years of K-12 teaching experience implementing technology in the classroom
- Experience with planning and delivering professional training to adult learners
- Must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina professional educator's license in Instructional Technology Specialist-Computers (00077) or Computer Education (18079)
- Must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, students and the community
- Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force
- Requires regular travel to designated MSAP magnet schools within Wake County
- Requires driving automotive equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction or related field
- Experience as a school or district-based technology facilitator
