Coordinating Doctor

Job Summary
The Doctor will participate in providing international medical support for International SOS clients, including medical advice, health risk assessments, clinical reviews, referrals, coordination of medical evacuation, and involvement in international medical movements or evacuations. Willingness to travel, dynamic thinking, and leadership qualities are required. Must hold MBChB and be HPCSA-registered for Independent Practice as General Practitioner with 5+ years post-Community Service and 5+ years in private General Practice. Experience in international medical assistance or remote medical services and any Travel/Tropical Medicine, Emergency Medicine (Dip PEC), or Family Medicine qualifications are advantageous. ACLS/ATLS/PALS certification and strong English communication are required; French or Portuguese language skills are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery
- Full HPCSA Registration for Independent Practice as General Practitioner
- Valid Passport
- Minimum of 5 years post Community Service
- Minimum of 5 years private sector working experience in Private General Practice
- Previous experience in international medical assistance or remote medical services and/or any training/diploma or qualification in Travel/Tropical Medicine, Emergency Medicine (Dip PEC) and or Family Medicine is highly advantageous
- Current ACLS, ATLS, PALS or equivalent
- Computer Literacy
- Excellent command of English (verbal and written)
- Additional French or Portuguese language advantageous
