Job Summary
Coordinate and implement a quality Magnet Program at Davila Elementary School. Assist in developing program goals and specialized curriculum; research and provide enrichment materials and equipment; assist with budget preparation, financial reports, requisitions and inventory; organize and coordinate enrichment activities (field trips, speakers, presentations); establish recordkeeping to monitor goals, budgeting, expenditures and inventory; participate in program evaluation and modifications; engage with prospective students and parents and initiate parental involvement; serve as liaison with Transportation, Special Education, and Magnet staff; assist principal with personnel utilization and coordination of the Magnet program with the regular instructional program; act as assessor of teachers as assigned and seek external funding. Requires Bachelor's degree, Texas Teacher Certification, three years teaching experience, and ability to travel district-wide; strong communication and interpersonal skills; willingness to lift up to 20 pounds and mobility to travel between schools. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Texas Teacher Certification
- Three years of exemplary teaching experience
- Working knowledge of computers, word processing, data base software preferred
- Interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to travel to schools throughout the District
- Valid Texas Driver's license with appropriate insurance
