Job Summary
Installs and assembles cooling tower components (motors, fans, gear boxes, shafts) with alignment, reads blueprints/building plans, selects materials, lays out work, marks and cuts materials, performs piping installation, erects frameworks, and assists with safety meetings. Role involves traveling between projects (3–6 weeks per site), outdoor work in refinery/chemical/power-plant environments, and potential weekend work; requires the ability to read tape measures, use framing tools, and lead small crews. Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years in field cooling tower construction, pass background and drug tests, hold a valid driver’s license, and possess or pursue relevant safety certifications (OSHA-oriented; TWIC preferred). Per diem is provided.”,
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years in field cooling tower construction
- 1 year (minimum) Cooling Tower Technician 2 in cooling tower construction
- Must pass level 1 DISA background
- Must pass drug & hair follicle
- Must have Valid Driver's License
- Must have steel toe boots
- Rigging, forklift, and man lift certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of safety standards through OSHA training and experience (preferred)
- Ability to read tape measures
- Basic knowledge of structural, mechanical and piping installation
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and terminology
- Ability to lead small crews to complete job tasks
- Per diem availability (documented utility bill)
