Job Summary
Prepare healthy, well-balanced meals by baking, grilling, steaming, and boiling meats, vegetables, fish, and poultry while consistently following recipes. Clean and sanitize kitchen workspaces, equipment, and utensils throughout the day to maintain food safety and sanitation standards. Handle, store, and check the freshness of ingredients; set up workstations and execute opening and closing procedures. Accommodate residents' special requests and present garnished dishes for catered events. Operate kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers. Flexible work hours required with the ability to adapt to various shifts, holidays, and events.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One to Two years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Health card
- Safe Serve Food Preparation and Handling Certificate
- Ability to train, mentor, and support individuals with varying skill levels in a structured environment
- Experience working with individuals in a residential, rehabilitation, or workforce development setting
