Job Summary
Prepare and serve food items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as assigned, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. Order, receive, and rotate stock in conjunction with the Food Service Director while maintaining proper sanitation and safety procedures. Read and follow recipes to ensure product consistency and assist with meeting resident dining expectations. Demonstrate ability to short order cook and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must possess Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Apply if you have at least one year of cooking experience and can effectively communicate with residents and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of cooking experience (some short order cooking) and quantity cooking
- Must possess Serv-Safe certification, or willing to obtain upon hire
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and comprehend the same
- Knowledge of special dietary needs of residents and the required meal prep techniques
- Ability to effectively deal with conflict or customer complaints
- Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Follows all food safety and equipment safety procedures
- Knowledge of and compliance with community quality standards and requirements
- Ability to 'short order' cook
- Must be dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision
