Job Summary
Cook at West Chester Univ. on the Aramark team, preparing a variety of foods according to production guidelines and standardized recipes; sets up workstation with ingredients and equipment; handles prep tasks including measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming, and peeling; safely uses utensils and equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers; uses multiple cooking methods (baking, roasting, broiling, steaming) and presents portions with garnishes following established guidelines; adheres to food safety policies and sanitation standards and maintains equipment cleanliness and asset security; emphasizes excellent customer service and a positive demeanor toward guests and coworkers.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
