Job Summary
Prepare menus at least two weeks in advance for Center Manager approval and ensure compliance with Sacramento County Environmental Management Department licensing. Establish quality-standard sources within budget guidelines, maintain adequate inventory, and prepare nutritionally appropriate meals for patients, including specific accommodations for dietary needs. Clean and maintain kitchen facilities and equipment while providing patient training on sanitization, food storage, and proper portioning.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One-year related experience, i.e. cooking or food preparation, in a commercial kitchen OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Knowledge of related cooking tools, materials, methods and practices
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Serve Safe Certificate
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to plan and organize work schedule logically
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to adhere to rigid sanitary standards
