Job Summary
Cook position at Washington College in Chestertown, MD. Responsibilities include pleasing customers by providing a pleasant dining experience, assembling, cooking, and preparing ingredients, maintaining a sanitary kitchen, attending to presentation of each order, placing and expediting orders, following recipes, hot meal preparation (grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, broiling) and cold ingredient handling, proper dating/labeling/rotation of items, storing leftovers, and collaborating with the team on daily/holiday/theme menus. Requires 2+ years of cooking experience, strong knowledge of cooking methods and sanitation, exceptional food presentation skills, familiarity with kitchen equipment, and a strong work ethic with high energy.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of cooking experience to include food preparation
- Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
- Exceptional food presentation skills
- Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
