Job Summary
Cook needed to prepare large batches of food for CCA’s residents and staff, supervising kitchen help and ensuring security, sanitation, and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment. Responsibilities include following recipes and approved menus, adhering to prescribed diets, preparing a variety of foods, packing lunches, cleaning prep areas, complying with health/sanitation codes, and ensuring safety and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen. Requires minimum two years of quantity food production experience and High School/GED; associates in Culinary preferred; valid driver’s license; proficient with MS Office; ability to work with residents and maintain hygiene and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years prior experience in quantity food production.
- High School or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Possess knowledge of nutritional values, sanitary and health codes, and cooking times and temperatures.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and email or related software.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that doesn’t preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance.
- Maintain a record which does not preclude the employee from working with offenders as required by regulatory agencies.
