Job Summary
Line Cook role at Trustwell Living in Mission, KS. Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts with attention to portion sizes, safety, sanitation, and presentation. Supports inventory checks and deliveries in the absence of the Food Service Director. Emphasizes teamwork, resident satisfaction, and adherence to sanitation standards; communicates effectively with residents and staff. Provides quality meals for elderly residents and may assist other departments to enhance resident experience. Part-time shifts with weekends; established duties include rotating inventories, ensuring timely service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation for large groups.
- Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner for residents.
- Must enjoy working with the elderly and all who associate with them.
- Must be able to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illnesses without exposing them to additional health risks.
