Cook responsibilities include efficiently requisitioning, inspecting, preparing, cooking, cooling and portioning large and small quantities of meats, vegetables, cereals, soups, fruits and other foods according to standardized recipes; participate in recipe planning and menu changes; forecast production to meet demand; manage leftovers and waste; ensure proper storage, labeling and dating; maintain a clean, organized production area and comply with food safety regulations; deliver quality food with attention to taste and visual appeal; follow hospital policies and dress/time procedures; demonstrate strong customer service and communication; perform related duties and assist other areas as needed; mandatory training for abuse reporting is required within three months of hire; physical requirements include medium to frequent standing, lifting, bending, and ability to handle hot equipment and steam; equal opportunity employer with no discrimination.
