Job Summary
Cook prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, associates, staff and visitors in an institutional kitchen, coordinating with menus and work orders to meet meal schedules. Oversees a Culinary Assistant, tests prepared food for quality, and ensures items are prepared timely and safely while managing inventory, storage, and sanitation. Reports and records temperatures and supports menu changes for efficient utilization of food and supplies; emphasizes consistent standards and growth opportunities. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred; must read/write English with basic math skills. Experience: Two to three years of institutional food production preferred. Responsibilities include reviewing menus, planning cooking schedules, weighing ingredients, cooking regular and diet items, maintaining cleanliness, issuing work orders, and supervising staff to ensure quality and timely service.
Required Qualifications
