Job Summary
Prepare a variety of food items according to assigned work instructions, menus, and guidelines while adhering to food safety and handling procedures. Set up the workstation with necessary ingredients and equipment, safely operate kitchen tools including knives, ovens, stoves, and mixers, and manage assigned stations to produce dishes timely. Follow recipes and portion standards, stock line stations, and handle both hot and cold work conditions in a high-volume kitchen environment. Perform opening and closing checklists and rotate products in accordance with state laws. This role requires standing for most of the shift and includes physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility
- Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment
