Job Summary
Cook in a jail kitchen responsible for assisting in food preparation and following a prep list to plan duties. Duties include labeling and stocking ingredients, measuring and preparing ingredients (vegetables, meat, sauces), performing basic cooking tasks, preparing simple dishes (salads, entrees), and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen while complying with nutrition guidelines. Must work a 4:30am–12:30pm schedule with weekend availability, pass a thorough background check, and be part of a benefits-eligible role. Strong teamwork and ability to follow instructions are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as prep cook
- Background check required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent desirable
- Health and safety knowledge in a kitchen
