Job Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing meals for Family Center residents and children in the Booth Memorial Child Development Center, managing food preparation and transportation, supervising volunteers, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including the homeless population. Candidates must have a valid California driver’s license and must be willing to obtain a food handler permit if they do not already possess one.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver License
- Ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
- Must be 21 years or older
- Authorization to add name to CA DMV Pull Notice Program
- Completion of Salvation Army vehicle course training
- Food Handler permit under California Safety Code 97-0071 or willingness to attain within 6 months of employment
