Job Summary

Prepare meals that are appealing and tasty per the menu and schedule, ensuring proper temperature and presentation. Rotate food correctly, maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, and follow cleaning schedules. Identify menu errors and make appropriate corrections as needed. Prepare special limited diets per policy and physician orders. Relate to residents in a courteous, empathetic, and cooperative manner. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. This role requires an upbeat, flexible personality and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Full-time team members are eligible for comprehensive medical benefits, while part-time members receive Dental and Accident Medical Benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed an approved Dietary Manager's Course or possess a ServSafe Food Handler's certificate
  • Possess a ServSafe Food Handler's certificate (if not currently holding one, must receive within 30 days of employment)
  • Knowledge of food preparation, production and plate presentation
  • Knowledge of special dietary needs
  • Must be drug-free and submit to a drug screening upon hire and routinely
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations
  • Must possess an upbeat, positive, flexible, and enthusiastic personality
  • Must be an honest and dependable individual
  • Must maintain proper hygiene
  • Must be professional in dress and presentation
  • Must be willing to be active during entire work shift
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in Standard English
  • Must be a mature individual
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Must be detail and team work oriented
  • Must attend required in-services/ workshops to further education of skills and community requirements
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations
  • Must possess qualities of leadership, tact, and adaptability to change
  • Must uphold community dress policy
  • Must be capable of following oral and written instruction
  • Must display and use own good judgement and initiative in daily duties
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, carry, push, and pull
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to talk and hear
  • Must be available for weekends
  • Must be available for Day Shift (FRI & SAT, 5:30AM - 2PM)
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Earn between $19.50 and $20/hour, dependent on experience
