Job Summary
Cook at the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation in Arlington, TX. Prepare meals for quick-serve café and private/special event catering, following Executive/Sous Chef directions, maintaining proper food temperatures, safety and sanitation, and delivering excellent service. Responsibilities include portion control, adherence to recipes and policies, team collaboration, weekly inventory, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and equipment safety. Requires ability to lift weights, flexibility to work extended hours, and obtaining a Texas Food Handlers license within 14 days of start date.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain Texas Food Handlers license within 14 days of start date
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs regularly
- Must be able to work all Museum events, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Culinary education or 2+ years in a fast-paced high-volume fine dining restaurant or catering facility
- Strong line experience for Ala Carte Service
- SERV Safe–food handling certification (preferred)
- Ability to interact with co-workers to ensure compliance with service standards
- Multitasking in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
- English reading/writing and communication skills
