Job Summary

Assist the Executive Chef in overall kitchen operations for the Dining Services department, focusing on food production for Briarwood and Hawthorne dining rooms and the Market Café. Coordinate with the Executive Chef on menu planning, production, and catering functions; supervise kitchen personnel, train and develop staff, and oversee food purchasing, receiving, preparation, sanitation and safety. Apply front-of-house management knowledge from fine dining/club models to ensure elder-focused service, collaboration on Meadows Market Café menus, and all catering events. Ensure adherence to dietary standards and NY State DOH safety codes; maintain temperature logs; ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen, dining rooms, and café areas; coordinate with Café Manager on events and special menus; manage supplies and communicate policy changes; participate in weekly staff meetings and daily pre-/post-meal briefings.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • HACCP/Food Safety Certified
  • Fluent in the English Language
