Cook - Swing Position

Cook – Swing Position prepares, cooks, and serves food for residents, guests, and partners in a not-for-profit retirement community. Reads menus to estimate requirements, procures food, follows recipes, and uses various kitchen equipment to prepare items across soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, casseroles, and other menu offerings. Cooks and bakes meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, and breads; adjusts recipes as needed with supervisor; monitors doneness via tasting, temperature checks, and presentation; portions and garnishes plated foods; maintains sanitation and orderliness of equipment and work area; communicates with other food service staff to prevent waste and ensure facility needs are met; selects and develops recipes when needed and coordinates with team for service line replenishment.
