Job Summary

Prepare and serve foods for residents according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and therapeutic diet guidelines while maintaining strict sanitation and safety standards. Plan meal services, organize food preparation, and perform routine record-keeping duties to assist with department reports. Execute cleaning schedules, check refrigeration temperatures, and handle equipment safely. Serve meals in the dining room, buss tables, set tables, and operate dishwashers. Respond promptly to resident needs, assess emergency situations with the team, and report changes in resident conditions through staff notes and incident reports. Maintain a clean, safe, and odor-free environment while adhering to confidentiality protocols and facility codes of conduct.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Good moral character
  • Sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with residents and staff
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before small groups of residents, family, or staff
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Experience in health care food service is preferred but not necessary
  • Familiar with food preparation methods
  • Familiar with adaptation of therapeutic diet menus
  • General knowledge of special diets (i.e., diabetic)
  • Knowledge of measures and weights: cc's, ounces, pounds, etc.
  • Working knowledge of RCF philosophy
  • Working knowledge of Resident's Rights and Responsibilities
  • Have an understanding of The Sweet Bye N Bye's Code of Conduct
  • Ability to stand
  • Ability to use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, taste or smell
  • Ability to walk

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move residents weighing in excess of 100 pounds with appropriate assistance equipment
