Job Summary
Provision of high-quality dining service to residents while supervising staff in menu production, safe food handling, and sanitation compliance. Monitor food temperatures, manage daily inventories, and maintain kitchen equipment preventative programs. Control food, labor, and supply costs by tracking production records and minimizing waste. Report equipment malfunctions to maintenance immediately. Maintain accurate daily production records to aid future purchasing and expenditure control. Work in a hot, humid, or cold kitchen environment using various cooking equipment and utensils. Remain flexible with hours and maintain an active license.
Required Qualifications
- Three years' experience as a cook
- Active license
- Flexibility with hours
- Local, state and federal Background Criminal Investigations (BCI checks) validating no history of criminal activity
- Ability to read, speak, and understand spoken and written directions
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents or regulatory agencies
- Sight/hearing senses (or use of prosthetics) enabling these senses to function adequately
- Ability to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances
- Ability to stand for multiple hours in duration
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies and items up to 50 lbs
