Job Summary
Prepare appetizing, nourishing meals for residents in an institutional senior-living setting. Follow standardized recipes, utilize menus developed by Registered Dietitians, and cook meals that meet serving temperatures and timeframes while minimizing waste. Assist with food storage, tray assembly, cleaning, and coordination with the Dietary Manager for survey readiness. Emphasizes person-centered care and resident satisfaction through effective communication and adherence to facility procedures.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred.
- Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets
- Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills
- Understanding of person-centered care
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations
