Job Summary
The Cook position at Sports & Social BPV involves preparing and cooking orders promptly while managing food usage to minimize waste. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards according to health requirements, assisting in inventory management, and promoting teamwork through communication with staff. Requires at least one year of cooking experience in a fast-paced environment and basic cooking knowledge. Must demonstrate communication and mathematical skills, and may be required to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year experience of cooking on a fast paced kitchen line and food preparation experience
- Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation
- Strong communication skills
- Reading and writing abilities for meal preparation and scheduling
- Mathematical skills including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances
Desired Qualifications
- Culinary certified training preferred
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
Additional Requirements
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Must be able to carry or lift items weighing up to 75 pounds
