Job Summary
Cook responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals for residents, following menus and dietary guidelines. Duties include preparing and cooking meals, assisting with menu planning and portion control, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation per regulations, accommodating dietary needs, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, collaborating with dietary team for timely service, monitoring inventory and minimizing waste, and following all safety and infection control protocols. The role requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in institutional cooking, healthcare, or food service preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
