Job Summary
Cook at The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas prepares hot and cold items according to recipes, follows menus, applies a FIFO approach to inventory, maintains sanitation and health standards, and collaborates with the Executive Chef to review production lists and other job-related information. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment knowledge, logging temperatures and tastings, assisting with kitchen closing, and communicating needs during busy periods to ensure quality service across programs. Requires strong cooking techniques, knowledge of food products, ability to read and execute recipes, knife skills, and the ability to work varied shifts; English proficiency and transportation/driver’s license are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of cooking experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read, translate, and execute recipes
- Own a full knife set and excellent knife skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal service skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Possession of valid Health Card and Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation/vehicle
