Job Summary

Prepare and serve daily nutritious meals for participants at Solara House, accommodating dietary restrictions and maintaining consistent portioning. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment while following all food safety and sanitation standards. Support inventory management, organize food deliveries, and minimize waste through proper storage and labeling. Collaborate with the Kitchen Coordinator and program staff to align meal services with participant needs and overall program operations. Complete functional timesheets by assigned due dates and actively participate in reflective supervision sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of experience in food preparation, preferably in residential, shelter, or community-based settings
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Food Handler or Food Safety certification
  • Valid CA driver's license
  • Proof of insurance
  • Approval by RP insurance as a driver
  • Ability to complete all required background checks
  • Ability to meet CCL licensing requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to multitask and handle stress
  • Ability to work on-site in a residential shelter environment
  • Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on meal service schedules
  • Ability to complete functional timesheets by assigned due dates
  • Ability to actively participate in reflective supervision sessions
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures related to job duties
