Job Summary
Plan, prepare, and cook meals for residents according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines, ensuring adherence to portion sizes, food safety standards, and nutritional requirements. Coordinate meal preparation schedules for timely delivery, monitor inventory and place orders as needed, follow standardized recipes, maintain temperatures to prevent foodborne illness, keep kitchen areas clean and sanitized, assist with menu development incorporating resident feedback, collaborate with Dietary Managers, Nutritionists, and Dietary Aides to address resident concerns and ensure satisfaction, and participate in training to enhance culinary skills and food safety knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and dietary guidelines
- Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and execute cooking techniques with precision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
