Job Summary
Execute corporate recipes and prepare dietary meals for residents while maintaining strict ServSafe and food safety regulations. Adjust dishes for allergies, weigh and measure ingredients, and perform cooking techniques including steaming, grilling, and baking. Ensure proper sanitization of equipment, garnish finished dishes, and act as a liaison to front-of-house staff for temperature checks. Assist with food assembly and provide meal feedback to the supervisor. Work within set time limits without late nights. High school diploma required with one year of cooking experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma / GED, or as required by state regulations
- One (1) year cooking experience in a restaurant, health care or senior services setting
- Two (2) years cooking experience in a restaurant, health care or senior services setting
- Completed culinary training/certification
- Vocational training/certification in commercial food preparation
- ServSafe certification
- Knowledge of governmental regulations for food safety and handling
- Knowledge of corporate regulations for food safety and handling
- Ability to adjust food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
- Ability to act as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
- Ability to assist other cooks during the food assembly process
- Ability to weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes
- Ability to steam, grill, boil, bake or fry ingredients
- Ability to check food and ingredients for freshness
- Ability to arrange and garnish dishes
- Ability to work well under pressure and within the time limit
- Ability to provide resident feedback and make meal recommendations to Supervisor
