Job Summary
Prepare, cook, season, and serve adequate, nutritious meals including meats, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruits, soups, salads, desserts, breads, and pastries according to scheduled menus. Handle and prepare foodstuffs by peeling, washing, trimming, and cutting produce and deboning meats; bake, roast, stew, steam, and baste proteins while making gravies, stocks, and sauces. Comply with meal schedules and dietary guidelines, checking each tray for completeness and accuracy before serving. Estimate quantities to monitor portion-controlled guidelines and limit waste. Work Sunday 9am-3pm and Monday through Tuesday 4pm-8pm as a part-time role.
Required Qualifications
- ability to read and write English
- High school diploma preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in the dietary department of health care facility preferred
