Job Summary
Prepare, cook, and serve adequate, nutritious, and balanced meals including meats, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruits, soups, salads, desserts, breads, and pastries according to scheduled menus and dietary guidelines. Handle and prepare foodstuffs by peeling, washing, trimming, and cutting produce and deboning meats while adhering to proper food-handling techniques and safety hazards. Comply with meal schedules, estimate food quantities, and monitor portion-controlled guidelines for individual residents. Taste and observe food to ensure conformity with recipes and appearance before serving. Work evening shifts from 11am to 7pm with flexible days of the week including one weekend day.
Required Qualifications
- ability to read and write English
- High school diploma preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in the dietary department of health care facility preferred
