Job Summary
Cook at Denny’s preparing and presenting food to order following menu specifications and timing standards, maintaining a clean, sanitary work area, and adhering to safety regulations. Responsibilities include honoring guest requests for special orders, reading tickets and recipes, organizing supplies, monitoring waste and food cost controls, assisting team members, and ensuring total guest satisfaction. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work inside/outside the restaurant, read tickets/recipes, and communicate in English. Requires flexibility to work holidays, nights, and weekends, and to meet health and safety regulations; position involves standing for most of shift and handling potentially hazardous chemicals. Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, this role supports the kitchen to deliver quality dishes consistent with Denny’s standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Must possess excellent guest service skills
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs throughout shift
- Must be able to read tickets, recipes, and product specification
- Must be able to communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Must be able to work with all Denny’s menu products
- Must meet any state, county, or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must be able to observe and ensure product is prepared and presented to Denny’s Brand Standards
