Job Summary
Cook in a senior-care dining services kitchen responsible for preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests. Reports to the Director of Dining Services. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years’ experience with food preparation, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu planning. Must read and follow instructions, recipes, menus, and food labels in English; develop a positive team-oriented attitude and collaborate with staff to serve elderly residents. May be required to hold First Aid Certification. Pay rate $23.00-$25.50 per hour. Location: Santa Monica, CA; on-site. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSAs, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and referral program.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
- Speak, read, and understand the English language.
- Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.
