Job Summary
Follow recipes and prepare nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities according to census and diet type. Adjust food quantities to prevent over or under production, serve meals on time, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Prepare food substitutes for resident preferences and assist the Dietary Manager with inspections and state surveys while adhering to infection control policies. Shift schedule is 1pm to 9pm. Current Food Handlers Permit required; ServSafe preferred. One plus years' experience in a commercial kitchen needed; skilled nursing facility experience a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Current Food Handlers Permit
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One plus years' experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting objects
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
- Shift schedule 1pm- 9pm
Desired Qualifications
- ServSafe Certification is preferred
- Experience cooking in a skilled nursing facility a plus
