Job Summary
Assist the cook with preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children and adults daily. Manage daily meal counts, post menu changes to individual classrooms, and maintain all kitchen areas including washing dishes and preparing the food service cart. Set out dishes, serve food, and collect dishes after meals while keeping the pantry, coffee table, and microwave clean and orderly. Operate the kitchen independently in the Cook's absence. Obtain the Food Sanitation Certificate within 90 days of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- basic skills in reading, writing, and budgeting
- Must obtain the Food Sanitation Certificate within 90 days of employment
- One year minimum of professional high volume cooking experience
- Demonstrated understanding of the nutritional needs of children and adults
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills
- basic skills in reading and writing in English
