Job Summary
Prepare and cook food, serve customers, and complete other duties as assigned in a healthcare kitchen. Follow recipes/instructions for bulk production, maintain an organized and sanitary work environment, and ensure proper quantity rotation of products. Interact with customers in various venues (catering, retail outlets, patient care) and may be required to deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, and operate ware-washing machines. Requires reading and understanding recipes, organizing tasks, and effective communication. Must be able to work as part of a team and independently. Knowledge of modified diets and ability to use commercial cooking equipment are preferred. Location is Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah; schedule includes weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work
- Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques
- Experience with reading recipes and following instructions
