Job Summary
Cook/Prep Cook needed for Avon Health Center (Part Time 20-24 hours per week, including every other weekend). Responsibilities include performing day-to-day cooking activities in accordance with standards, following standardized recipes, adhering to sanitation and storage policies, ensuring proper food temperatures, and following therapeutic diets ordered by physicians. Must work well independently and as part of a team, communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and government personnel, and be able to stand for long periods while lifting/moving equipment and supplies. Serv-Safe is a plus; 1-2 years of cooking experience including scratch cooking and experience with purees required. English language communication required. Main objective is to maintain quality food presentation and safety in a 120-bed facility with 30-bed post-acute/rehab unit.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of cooking experience including scratch cooking
- Serv-Safe is a plus
- Ability to speak, write and understand English
- Follow Therapeutic Diets ordered by physician
- Ensure proper food temps
- Follow standardized recipes
- Adhere to sanitation and storage policies and procedures
- Demonstrate correct safety techniques
