Job Summary
Front-line cook responsible for daily meal preparation and quality control of meat, fish, fowl, and other items on the line. Includes preparing broiled and sautéed dishes according to recipes, reading daily prep lists and performing math for portion sizes, ensuring proper storage and temperature control, maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health regulations, and assisting other kitchen personnel as needed. Breakfast, dinner, and banquet cooking duties are included, with emphasis on consistency, safety, sanitation, and reliable performance in a hotel kitchen environment.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- 3 years cooking experience preferred
- Broiler cooking knowledge
- Basic mathematical skills for recipes and measurements
- Basic knowledge of English for inquiries and instructions
- Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety procedures
- Experience with kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles)
