Job Summary
Cook and prepare food products including cutting, trimming, chopping, slicing, carving, mixing, cooking, sautéing, grilling, frying, broiling, baking, and steaming for the Gram & Dun venue. Follow appropriate food handling procedures, maintain freshness by rotating items and controlling temperatures, and ensure supplies are stocked for the next shift. Prepare, display, or serve food and beverage products according to chef's standards, including retrieving, arranging, garnishing, setting up, and serving. Clean and sanitize all areas, remove debris and litter, and maintain an attractive physical appearance of working areas. Operate kitchen equipment safely, learn and work the POS system, and compile information or complete reports as needed. Adhere to all company policies, gaming laws, and regulations while meeting uniform and grooming requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of one to three years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to pass a culinary knowledge test
- Ability to prepare, read and comprehend documents
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups of people
- Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs including but not limited to counting money
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, state or federal law
- Must be able to learn and work on the POS (point of sale) system
- Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds
- Must be able to pass a culinary knowledge test
