Job Summary
The Cook at PBR Hampton is responsible for controlling food usage to minimize waste, preparing and cooking orders in a timely manner, advising supervisors of low inventory items, and maintaining sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen and basic knowledge of cooking, with communication, reading, writing, and mathematical skills being essential for the role. Teamwork and quality service are emphasized through coordination with other departments.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year experience of cooking on a fast paced kitchen line and food preparation experience
- Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation
- Communication skills
- Reading and writing abilities
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances
Desired Qualifications
- Culinary certified training preferred
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card
Additional Requirements
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 75 pounds
