Job Summary
Part-time Cook role in a healthcare kitchen focused on preparing high-quality meals according to standardized recipes, maintaining food safety and cleanliness, and supporting kitchen operations. Responsibilities include cooking/menu item preparation, setting up workstations, operating kitchen equipment safely, following storage and labeling procedures, maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace, assisting with dishwashing and cleaning, coordinating with kitchen staff for timely service, communicating shortages or issues to supervisors, and assisting with training of new kitchen team members. Required skills include following recipes accurately, strong food preparation knowledge, teamwork and communication, time management, ability to multitask, and physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Education and experience emphasis on high school diploma or equivalent, with a Cook/Culinary program certificate as an asset and Food Handler Certification; 1–2 years in a health care kitchen is preferred.
