Job Summary
Set up stations, prepare all food items in a quality, sanitary, and timely manner, and follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications. Execute cooking tasks including cutting, sautéing, broiling, and preparing meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, salads, and desserts. Restock items using the First in First out (FIFO) methodology, clean and maintain the kitchen, prep areas, walk-in coolers, and storage zones, and ensure proper food safety and sanitation. Operate kitchen equipment safely while facilitating hundreds of covers per shift in a high-pressure environment. Requires a High School diploma, one year of prep or line cook experience, and a valid Food Handlers Permit. Located in Bellevue, WA, this part-time union role offers a starting wage of $22.78 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- At least 1 year of previous prep or line cook experience
- Must have valid Food Handlers Permit
- Must be able speak, read, and understand basic cooking directions
- Must be able to deal with multiple personalities in a high stress environment
- Professional communication and interaction skills
- Ability to take direction and receive feedback
- Ability to effectively work in both in a team environment and independently
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
- Possess a strong commitment to quality service, and food/culinary knowledge
