Job Summary
Execute daily food preparation and station setup for hundreds of covers per shift, adhering to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications. Cut, sauté, broil, and cook meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, salads, and desserts while maintaining strict sanitation and FIFO inventory rotation. Clean and organize kitchen, prep areas, and storage facilities, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and food safety standards are met. Assist with walk-in cooler organization and perform additional duties as required in a high-pressure, high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- At least 1 year of previous prep or line cook experience
- Must have valid Food Handlers Permit
- Must be able speak, read, and understand basic cooking directions
- Must be able to deal with multiple personalities in a high stress environment
- Professional communication and interaction skills
- Ability to take direction and receive feedback
- Ability to effectively work in both in a team environment and independently
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
- Possess a strong commitment to quality service, and food/culinary knowledge
- Possess the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Possess the ability to work with others to solve problems and create solutions
- Full service restaurant line experience in a high-volume environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
