Job Summary
The Cook role focuses on safe, efficient operation of the assigned kitchen workstation with strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation following prescribed recipes. Responsible for meeting standards in presentation, taste, and portions, and for communicating with the Chef and Sous Chef to order quantities for following shifts. Maintains logs for kitchen waste and reports maintenance needs. Adheres to Miccosukee Service Expectations and workplace safety/hygiene standards. Requires ability to work varied shifts, frequent standing/walking, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and ability to operate in a smoking environment; team-oriented, professional conduct, and ability to handle stressful guest interactions. The position is part-time and located at the Miccosukee Casino & Resort in Miami, FL.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cook in heavy volume operation or 3 years in preparation line staff position
- Culinary certification preferred
- Must be able to communicate in English, Spanish is a plus
