Job Summary
Cook (Part Time) at Garnet Hill Rehabilitation and Skilled Care in Wylie, TX. Prepares foods in accordance with standard menus and recipes, follows dietary regulations, ensures proper storage, investigates temperatures of hot and cold foods, and maintains sanitation. Responsible for supervising serving by wait staff, assisting in cleaning work areas, and ensuring residents receive meals. Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team and supports nutrition services, infection control, and safety protocols; requires one year cooking experience and a food handlers’ card or equivalent certification.
Required Qualifications
- One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
- Food handlers’ card required, or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
- Must have regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
- Must be able to tactfully communicate with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
- Must have fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
