Job Summary
Cook for a community dining service on Part-Time 1st Shift, responsible for preparing and serving meals per planned menus with portion control, ensuring proper storage of foods, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Duties include assisting with daily cleaning tasks, adhering to sanitary and infection-control policies, maintaining menus and records, inventorying incoming foods and supplies, and collaborating with staff. Requires English literacy, prior experience or training, and physical ability to lift and move items (over 25 pounds); strong customer-service orientation toward elderly residents.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must read, write, speak and understand English
- Previous experience or completion of appropriate training program
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the elderly
- Must have upper body strength adequate to bend, lift, shift, move, and/or assist in moving articles of more than twenty-five pounds
- Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress. Must be able to tolerate extended periods walking, standing
