Job Summary
Cook responsible for preparing, assembling, cooking, and serving menu items in banquet/buffet style service; collaborate with Executive Chef and other cooks to plan meals during dining hours; follow predetermined recipes for the weekly menu; maintain a safe workplace and comply with Environmental Health & Safety, USPH, FDA Food Code, and site policies; manage inventory, store foods at correct temperatures, and clean/restock dining and kitchen areas; perform duties in an outdoor unconditioned environment occasionally; support setup for breakfasts, brunches, and dinners; respond to equipment or facility issues with the O&M supervisor; requires TS/SCI clearance, Serve Safe certification (or ability to obtain), ability to lift 50 lbs, flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays; compensation is hourly under SCA with potential health/welfare benefits and a defined range of $28.00-$32.00 per hour; includes health/dental/vision insurance, PTO, retirement, and other benefits; Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- 2+ yrs. experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry with banquet/ buffet style cooking
- Provide applicable certifications
- Able to read, follow, and execute standardized recipes
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
- Currently have Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain and maintain Serve Safe Certification or equivalent
- Computer literacy to navigate online required training, time keeping, and email
- A valid Driver's license form applicant's home state is required
