Job Summary
Cook role responsible for preparing meals for residents under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Director, ensuring adherence to dietary standards and safety procedures. Key duties include preparing items from the daily menu, maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen and service areas, monitoring inventory, supervising servers in the absence of the Director, ensuring diets are followed, communicating problems to the Director, and producing high-quality meals for residents. Requires Serv Safe Certification, knowledge of food safety regulations, ability to cook large quantities, guide others in food preparation and service, and ability to interact professionally with staff and residents. Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift 40-50 pounds, and work in hot/humid environments; able to read, write, and speak English.
Required Qualifications
- Serv Safe Certification required
- Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures essential in accordance to state guidelines
- Knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings
- Demonstrates ability in a wide range of food preparation and skills
- Experienced in dealing with seniors and their dietary needs
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
